Premium capability built into SPRK, Accelya’s NDC booking and servicing portal, helps travel sellers manage servicing requests with greater consistency, efficiency and control
Accelya, a global provider of airline software solutions, today introduced SPRK Assist, an AI-powered servicing capability built into SPRK, Accelya’s NDC booking and servicing portal for travel sellers.
As travel sellers service increasing volumes of NDC bookings, agents handle a constant stream of changes, cancellations, disruptions, unused tickets, ancillary requests and name corrections. SPRK Assist is designed to help agents service those requests faster by combining AI with Accelya’s airline servicing expertise. The capability is being introduced with 37 defined use cases across seven servicing areas, helping agents prepare servicing transactions more efficiently while remain in control of every decision.
BCD Travel is one of the first travel sellers supporting the launch of SPRK Assist and will work with Accelya to validate priority use cases as the capability moves towards general availability later in 2026.
Yannis Karmis, EVP of Product Planning and Development at BCD said: “Servicing airline bookings remains one of the most complex and time-intensive challenges for travel management companies and our agents. Through BCD and Accelya’s collaboration, we’re addressing airline servicing pain points with AI-enabled technology integrations that make the process more efficient and easier to manage. We’re seeing success using AI solutions like SPRK Assist and are excited to work with Accelya to advance automation and deliver better servicing outcomes for our customers.”
With SPRK Assist, agents can describe the outcome they need in plain language. The capability helps retrieve the relevant order, validate applicable conditions, prepare the next action and present fees, refunds or servicing implications before the agent reviews and confirms the transaction.
SPRK Assist is moving into pilot activity with selected agencies ahead of planned general availability later in 2026 as a premium capability within SPRK. Pilot activities will focus on validating the workflows where AI assistance can create the greatest operational value for travel sellers.
Following launch, Accelya will work with a select group of travel sellers to validate priority servicing workflows and customer requirements as SPRK Assist moves towards broader general availability later in 2026.
Jim Davidson, Vice Chairman at Accelya said: “NDC is helping airlines, travel sellers and corporate buyers access greater choice, control and richer airline products. As adoption grows, there is an opportunity to make servicing just as intuitive as shopping and ordering. SPRK Assist is designed to help travel sellers handle servicing requests more efficiently by bringing AI-powered assistance directly into the workflow they already use. We’re delighted to be working with BCD Travel, whose reputation for innovation and willingness to help shape the future of travel technology make them an ideal launch partner as we validate where AI-assisted servicing can create the greatest value for travel sellers and their customers.”
SPRK Assist forms part of FLX AIViator, Accelya’s AI capability layer, applying AI to workflows where domain expertise, transaction control and auditability are essential.
SPRK Assist initially focuses on servicing areas including voluntary and involuntary changes, order cancellations, unused tickets, ancillary servicing, name correction and order divide scenarios.
Accelya will showcase SPRK Assist at GBTA Convention 2026 in Chicago.
