Accelya Strengthens NDC Proposition with Appointment of Tye Radcliffe

Barcelona, July 22, 2021

  • Tye Radcliffe joins Accelya as Vice President of Product Strategy.
  • Previously he was the Director of Distribution for United Airlines.
  • He is a founding member of IATA’s first NDC steering group and has served as Chairman of the IATA Passenger Standards Conference since 2017

Accelya, a leading global provider of technology solutions to the travel industry – has today announced the arrival recently of Tye Radcliffe as Vice President of Product Strategy, focusing on NDC, One Order and Payments.

Tye joins Accelya from a role as the Director of Distribution at United Airlines, where he was responsible for optimizing commercial agreements and modernizing technology for external retail channels – plus improving the corporate traveler direct-channel experience.

His unprecedented wealth of airline distribution knowledge, as both a founding member of IATA’s NDC working group and chairman of IATA’s Passenger Standards Conference since 2017, will make a significant contribution to the pioneering spirit of Accelya. Since starting in travel in 1997, Tye has held roles at Orbitz.com, Travelport, G2 Switchworks and Amadeus, where he helped sell Passenger Service Systems to airlines globally.

Tye will be based in the United States and will work from Chicago and Miami.

Jim Davidson, Chief Product Officer (CPO) at Accelya commented on the appointment: “Recruiting such talented people forms part of our core value of being relentless pioneers with an airline-centric focus – and right now that also means finding executives who can add value to our NDC and One Order proposition.

“Tye brings a unique blend of airline and industry experience to our product strategy team lead by Manish Nagpal. What Tye doesn’t know about NDC is not worth knowing. In his role as Chairman of IATA’s NDC taskforce, he literally wrote the rule book. Our airline clients know this and right from day one will benefit from his views and experience.

“Watch this space over the coming months as we make more important announcements.”

Tye Radcliffe, Vice President of Product Strategy at Accelya added: “I’d like to thank Manish, Jim and the management team at Accelya for giving me the opportunity to take on this fantastic role at such a critical juncture for the whole industry.

“After being involved for so many years with the planning of NDC at United and in my participation with IATA, I´m very excited to begin enabling Accelya’s airline clients to build their own path to distribution independence – defining next generation retailing from offer-to-settlement.

“I´m really impressed with my team and the innovation I’ve seen here at Accelya, and I look forward to helping our airline partners recover by unleashing their distribution potential.
