Accelya Strengthens Cargo iQ’s Tech Expertise to Drive Visibility in Air Cargo Supply Chain

  • Accelya upgrades to full membership of not-for-profit IATA supported organization with 60+ members dedicated to defining air cargo processes.
  • Software and tech provider Accelya becomes a Cargo iQ Data Management Platform provider to bring shipment visibility and enhanced supply chain quality.
  • The Cargo iQ team and Accelya will attend the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Istanbul from 25th to the 27th April.

Today the IATA supported not-for-profit membership group Cargo iQ has confirmed that long-standing Associate Member Accelya – a leading global provider of software and technology solutions to the travel industry – has achieved full member status following joining initially as an associate member in 2007.

As part of this agreement Accelya will become a Cargo iQ Data Management Platform (CDMP) provider, thus bringing shipment movement visibility to airlines and driving enhanced quality in the supply chain.

Accelya join’s Cargo IQ’s 60+ members worldwide – including airlines, forwarders, GHAs, IT companies and airports – as part of the organization’s mission to define the processes behind the air transport of cargo to measure success and continuously improve the value of airfreight for customers. Together they represent 12 million airport-to-airport shipments measured annually, four million door-to-door shipments measured annually, and annual data exceeding 110 million lines per year.

This development follows Accelya developing the specifications to offer its solution to airlines, and additionally the completion of a quality audit to acquire Cargo iQ certification as a CDMP provider and full member. Whilst to maintain full member status, Accelya will undergo regular audits and must comply with the Cargo iQ Quality Management System requirements.

As a full member, Accelya will also participate and vote at Cargo iQ’s AGMs and Working Groups and will help to steer Cargo iQ’s strategy, nominate candidates for Board membership, and vote to elect Board members.
