John Johnston is the Group CEO of Barcelona-based Accelya. John was the founding CEO of Luxembourg-based CHAMP Cargosystems and a former CIO & Vice President of Cargolux Airlines. During his career serving the aviation industry for 25 years, John has held senior executive positions in several countries and has provided senior management and consulting services to a number of global airlines. John sits on the board of directors of companies in Asia, Europe and the United States. In his professional life, John has been involved in the development of computer hardware, radio frequency handheld systems, and airline operational and financial solutions. In recent years, he was responsible for the creation and growth of CHAMP Cargosystems into the world’s leading dedicated IT services provider to the air cargo industry.
Chief Financial Officer
José María Hurtado is the Chief Financial Officer at Accelya, where he is responsible for the financial management of the company and plays a key role in the definition and implementation of Accelya´s strategy, including mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Accelya in 2007, José María headed finance for Siemens VDO Automotive in Spain and France for more than 10 years. José María started his professional career at KPMG.
Chief Commercial Officer
Jordi Arcalis is the Chief Commercial Officer at Accelya, where he is responsible for leading the company’s commercial and marketing teams. His experience includes worldwide sales as well as business management and he is a proven technology executive with more than 15 years of experience leading international teams. Jordi holds a BA and MBA from ESADE Business School, and has received post graduate education in leadership development from Harvard Business School.
Chief Technology & Information Officer
Brendan is the Chief Technology & Information Officer at Accelya. As an advocate of leading technologies for almost three decades, Brendan is an accomplished entrepreneur, having founded a number of internationally traded companies, one of which was Columba Global Systems where he invented the Exprimer Search Engine. He has also held several roles in technology and business consultancy for organizations including Elias N.V. under IBM Belgium, and CGI in Canada. Brendan is passionate about aviation and quotes his tenure as an advisor to Royal Flight of Oman as his dream posting to date. He has also worked for a number of governments, designing and implementing national solutions focused on airline data, such as e-visa and security systems.
Chief Operating Officer, Accelya Managed Services
Eric brings with him more than 30 years of Business Process Management experience. His last appointment was with WNS Global Services, where he held several senior management positions. As Global Operations Director, he was responsible for building the Global Delivery and Support structure to enable significant growth; as CEO of the Enterprise Business, he created the F&A practice and the Shipping Logistics & Infrastructure division as Managing Director of Europe and South Africa region, he was responsible for strategic deals and operations. Prior to WNS, Eric was with Hays plc as the Managing Director of the Document Management business, where he set up and ran several businesses across multiple geographies. He sits on the IT and Services Advisory council of Sri Lanka.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Berry brings with him 15 years of human resources management experience in the USA, UK, Canada, Spain, the Netherlands and Japan. He has led multiple global HR organizations in such reputable organizations such as Disney, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. In addition to his work in HR, Berry has also collaborated with the EU and the UN in establishing visa and transit procedures for foreign nationals working in the maritime industry, as well as the development of labor regulations at sea. Berry is passionate about travel having spent his entire career in the cruise, hotel and air industries.
Executive Vice President, Corporate Management & Planning
Susan joined Accelya in May 2016 as EVP Corporate Management & Planning, and her responsibilities include strategic planning and analysis, enterprise risk management and PMO for internal change management. Prior to joining Accelya, she was CFO of CHAMP Cargosystems and has also held other senior roles in finance and M&A with SITA and British Airways during a 20+ year career serving the airline industry. Susan is a Chartered Accountant, qualifying with PWC in London. A British national, she is based in Camberley, UK.
Executive Vice President, Financial Solutions
Neela is the EVP for Financial Solutions at Accelya, as well as the Managing Director of the Indian operations. Neela brings more than 30 years of IT industry experience, specifically providing solutions to the service industry. A Computer Science & Mathematics graduate with a strong entrepreneur’s spirit, she's led Accelya’s growth in the airline industry for revenue accounting. During her 17 years at Accelya, she's held many roles in sales, strategy, marketing, customer engagement and service, and during that time was also responsible for the acquisition of Speedwing’s (British Airways’ subsidiary) products. Prior to Accelya, she was the founder and CEO of Sofcell Consultants, providing service to companies including the Taj Group of Hotels, Reliance Industries Ltd, and agencies for global shipping lines such as CMA CGM and Evergreen Marine Corp.
Executive Vice President, Commercial and Cargo & Logistics Solutions
James Fernandez is the Executive Vice President for Accelya’s Commercial and Cargo & Logistics Solutions, managing global teams, including subsidiary group companies, and spanning both passenger and cargo industry verticals. James’s teams are responsible for Accelya’s revenue management, passenger sales and incentive management, airline loyalty management, predictive analytics and commercial insights consulting, as well as air cargo and ocean shipping solutions. Prior to Accelya, James had executive and commercial management responsibilities at CHAMP Cargosystems, Infosky (a Chinese JV company), SITA and CGI (formerly LogicaCMG). James is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Science, Shrivenham, and has received post-graduate executive education at the London Business School.
Executive Vice President, Industry Solutions
Jose Maria is our EVP of Industry Solutions and Revenue Assurance, with more than 20 years’ experience at Accelya. He has held a range of roles, including the Group CFO until 2008, as well as Business Development Director, in which he was instrumental in the acquisition of Kale Consultants Ltd by Accelya. During his tenure with Accelya, Jose Maria has been leading the relationship with IATA and has been a key player in the significant growth of the Commercial Solutions, Payment Solutions and Revenue Assurance divisions. Prior to Accelya, he was a Manager at KPMG in the areas of audit and consulting divisions in Spain and the UK.
