Chief Executive Officer
John Johnston is the Group CEO of Barcelona-based Accelya. John was the founding CEO of Luxembourg-based CHAMP Cargosystems and a former CIO & Vice President of Cargolux Airlines. During his career serving the aviation industry for 25 years, John has held senior executive positions in several countries and has provided senior management and consulting services to a number of global airlines. John sits on the board of directors of companies in Asia, Europe and the United States. In his professional life, John has been involved in the development of computer hardware, radio frequency handheld systems, and airline operational and financial solutions. In recent years, he was responsible for the creation and growth of CHAMP Cargosystems into the world’s leading dedicated IT services provider to the air cargo industry.
Chief Financial Officer
José María Hurtado is the Chief Financial Officer at Accelya, where he is responsible for the financial management of the company and plays a key role in the definition and implementation of Accelya´s strategy, including mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Accelya in 2007, José María headed finance for Siemens VDO Automotive in Spain and France for more than 10 years. José María started his professional career at KPMG.
Chief Commercial Officer
James Fernandez is now the Chief Commercial Officer at Accelya. James also continues to be responsible for the Cargo and Logistics Line of Business. He brings with him a wealth of experience and extensive sales and consulting leadership skills gained over many years and industries. In his new role, James will responsible for the entire Sales and Marketing organization. Prior to Accelya, James had executive and commercial management responsibilities at CHAMP Cargosystems, Infosky (a Chinese JV company), SITA and CGI (formerly LogicaCMG). James is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Science, Shrivenham, and has received post-graduate executive education at the London Business School.
Executive Vice President, Accelya Managed Services
Eric brings with him more than 30 years of Business Process Management experience. His last appointment was with WNS Global Services, where he held several senior management positions. As Global Operations Director, he was responsible for building the Global Delivery and Support structure to enable significant growth; as CEO of the Enterprise Business, he created the F&A practice and the Shipping Logistics & Infrastructure division as Managing Director of Europe and South Africa region, he was responsible for strategic deals and operations. Prior to WNS, Eric was with Hays plc as the Managing Director of the Document Management business, where he set up and ran several businesses across multiple geographies. He sits on the IT and Services Advisory council of Sri Lanka.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Berry brings with him 15 years of human resources management experience in the USA, UK, Canada, Spain, the Netherlands and Japan. He has led multiple global HR organizations in such reputable organizations such as Disney, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. In addition to his work in HR, Berry has also collaborated with the EU and the UN in establishing visa and transit procedures for foreign nationals working in the maritime industry, as well as the development of labor regulations at sea. Berry is passionate about travel having spent his entire career in the cruise, hotel and air industries.
Executive Vice President, Corporate Management & Planning
Susan joined Accelya in May 2016 as EVP Corporate Management & Planning, and her responsibilities include strategic planning and analysis, enterprise risk management and PMO for internal change management. Prior to joining Accelya, she was CFO of CHAMP Cargosystems and has also held other senior roles in finance and M&A with SITA and British Airways during a 20+ year career serving the airline industry. Susan is a Chartered Accountant, qualifying with PWC in London. A British national, she is based in Camberley, UK.
Executive Vice President, Financial Solutions
Neela is the EVP for Financial Solutions at Accelya, as well as the Managing Director of the Indian operations. Neela brings more than 30 years of IT industry experience, specifically providing solutions to the service industry. A Computer Science & Mathematics graduate with a strong entrepreneur’s spirit, she's led Accelya’s growth in the airline industry for revenue accounting. During her 17 years at Accelya, she's held many roles in sales, strategy, marketing, customer engagement and service, and during that time was also responsible for the acquisition of Speedwing’s (British Airways’ subsidiary) products. Prior to Accelya, she was the founder and CEO of Sofcell Consultants, providing service to companies including the Taj Group of Hotels, Reliance Industries Ltd, and agencies for global shipping lines such as CMA CGM and Evergreen Marine Corp.
Executive Vice President, Cargo & Industry Solutions
Klaas Fokkema is the EVP for Commercial Solutions, with more than 20 years of experience in the airline transport industry at SITA. During this period, Klaas gained a wealth of experience and industry knowledge. He has held various roles that include leading the sales and account management teams in northern Europe and managing the airport solutions business in Europe. He was also previously responsible for mergers and acquisitions and completed several acquisition projects successfully. Klaas is based in the Barcelona head office.
Chief Technology Officer
Brian Collins is the Chief Technology Officer of Accelya Group, with more the 20 years of experience in the technology sector. He has significant international experience having worked in Europe, the US and the Middle East and has spent 14 years in the travel industry. He has been with Accelya since 2016 where he has held several leading roles including directing product development and innovation which added to his extensive regional expertise, makes him ideal to lead the technological challenges of a global company.
Chief Product Officer
Jim Davidson is Chief Product Officer at Accelya Group and is responsible for the organization’s commercial and financial solutions portfolio. Prior to its acquisition by Accelya, Jim was CEO of Farelogix, a recognized disruptor and leader in airline distribution and commerce technology. Jim has been immersed in the travel industry for more than 25 years. Prior to 2005, he was President and CEO of NTE, an Internet-based supply chain technology company focused on transportation pricing and transaction engines for shippers and carriers. He also held several senior leadership roles, including President and CEO of Amadeus Global Travel, North America; Head of Sales and Marketing at System One; and Vice President of Marketing at Reed Travel Group/OAG.
Chief Operating Officer
Jeff Mathew is Chief Operating Officer at Accelya Group and is responsible for IT, Managed Services, Project Management, and other operational areas of the business. Jeff was previously SVP of Operations at Farelogix, where he led the development of new strategies, technologies, and processes while supporting complex customer implementations. Jeff has been immersed in the travel and hospitality sectors throughout his career – from CTO at PlacePass, a startup in the tours and activities space to various roles at full-service airlines. During his 15-year tenure with United Airlines, which included nine years with Continental Airlines, Jeff held development and technology roles, and was responsible for over $15B in annual revenue through United’s e-commerce and merchandising channels.
