Local legislations in a European context

Within European Union, electronic invoicing is ruled by the EU directive 2001/115/EU.

EU directive states:

  • Electronic invoices to be accepted by each member state within EU
  • Electronic archiving to be permitted in any member state
  • Electronic invoicing format using structured exchanges and /or electronic signature.
